Batman Vs The Dark Knight Trailer
May 5th, 2008 by admin

Just stumbled upon this comparisson between the original Batman Trailer from 1989 and the new Batman: The Dark Night trailer.  The similiarities are pretty damn good assuming the original Batman trailer hasn’t been altered.

I didn’t really like Jamie Kennedy’s show but this skit is pretty funny.

R2D2 Projector
April 30th, 2008 by admin

I just stumbled across this site and found one of the coolest Star Wars Gadgets out there.  Its probably extremely expensive but it looks awesome.  What really got me was how it can move around the room and tilt. Definetly worth watching.

cfmail and GoDaddy
April 19th, 2008 by admin

[EDIT] I like everybody to know that I did figure this problem out.  It was not a GoDaddy issue which I thought it was.  I will not say what it was but just know that I am extremely embarrassed by it.

I’m going to make this a quick post tonight.  I spent most of my night writing a contact us page for this website actually in ColdFusion.  I know the blog itself is in PHP but at Mannix Marketing where I work we do a lot with ColdFusion and I have fallen for it, its fantastic.  So I wrote a quick contact us page and when I was getting to the part where I was sending the email I used cfmail and it would just not work.  I tried so many different variations of it and could not get it to send an email, the worst part is it doesn’t even throw an error. I’ve tried connecting to email servers that I know about and just would not work.  I decided its probably a GoDaddy thing, I’ll probably play with it again tomorrow and when I get frustrated enough I’ll submit a support ticket.

Props to Nintendo
April 18th, 2008 by admin

My mother bought a Nintendo Wii this past week and tonight I had my first chance to play with it. The first game that I popped in was Wii Sports. After playing for only a couple of minutes I was damn impressed. The graphics are nothing to talk about but the gameplay (which is more important) is so much fun.

Interacting with the game with your body is so much better than just your thumbs and it takes a quite a bit out of you. I got really into the boxing and after three fights I was definetly feeling it in my shoulders. It may not be actual exercise but at least its its better than sitting on the couch with a Pepsi balancing on your gut.

I would like to give props to Nintendo for coming out with this system. Back when it was X-Box vs. PS2 vs GameCube I thought for sure Nintendo was going down. Nintendo has always had great games for its system but competeing against industry giants like Sony and Microsoft who are on the cutting edge of technology has to be so difficult. So Nintendo decides, let those two duke it out, I’m just going to produce fun games for both the old and young. I didn’t think they were going to survive this round of console wars but they did it. Now I hear the X-Box 360 is looking to duplicate the Wii Remote and I’m sure the PS3 will come out with something similar in the upcoming years.

My hat is off to you, Nintendo.

Kids and Violent Video Games
April 17th, 2008 by admin

An excellent interview with two people who actually did research into violent video games and their affect on children. I love the fact that they said kids who don’t play video games are still at high risk of being troubled. Definetly worth watching.

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man
April 16th, 2008 by admin

I just had a phone conversation with a buddy of mine where we both brought up the fact that we were looking forward to seeing the new Iron Man movie coming out May 2nd. I had seen the trailers and they look fantastic. I got thinking during this conversation on how Robert Downey Jr. is going to play Iron Man.

I don’t typically see Robert Downey Jr. as hero. His potrayal of Tony Stark I think is going to be great, kind of an ass and extremely full of himself.  I definetly see that as Robert Downey Jr. As a hero I am not so sure about.

Then again I don’t know much about Iron Man. I’ve always seen him as hero but for all I know he could be more like the Punisher.  We shall see on May 2nd.  After I see the movie I’m sure I will write a brief review.

Beijing Olympics
April 14th, 2008 by admin

This was more of a topic for last week but since I didn’t have this up and running last week, I’m blogging about it now.  I was a bit dissapointed when I heard last week that protestors where attempting to throw water on the Olympic Torch and were even go as far as using a fire extinguisher.  I’ve always seen the Olympic Torch and the Olympics in general as a sign of peaceful unity among the different countries.

I don’t people to misunderstand me, I’m not thrilled about how China treats its citizens. I think Tibet should be free and China shouldn’t censor the internet for its citizens but the Olympics are not a place where these issues should be brought up.  To me the Olympics are a place where countries with different customs, rules, societies can come together and accomplish something as one.

I’m all for free speech and the right to protest but I believe these protesters went to far.  If you believe the Olympics should not be allowed in China because of how it treats its citizens then thats fine, you have every right to your own opinion.  Just don’t go as far as to put out the Olympic Torch.  Your issue isn’t with the Olympics, its with China.  Find a way to change China from within China, its the only way they will actually change.

The Office - Dinner Party
April 13th, 2008 by admin

I have to say, last Thursday night at 9:00pm I was extremely excited about a new episode of The Office.  It was their first episode since the Writers Strike and I was looking forward to it.

I always look forward to the first two minutes of The Office, on numerous episodes I have found the first two minutes sometimes the funniest. After watching this first two minutes I was a touch disappointed but I did find it clever how Michael Scott was able to trick Jim and Pam into a dinner party.

Overall I found the episode lacking.  Don’t get me wrong, the episode did have its funny moments and wasn’t completely not worth watching but in comparison to other episodes, it didn’t live up.  I’m hoping next weeks episode will be much better.  A couple things I’ve been missing lately is the rivalry between Jim and Dwight and also Dwight’s ego. Ever since his break up with Angela he has been a bit depressing.

Hopefully next weeks episode they will get back into the swing of things.
