First Attempt at Astrophotography
A new hobby I have been looking to get into is astrophotography. Last Friday night I went up to the Wild Center where the Adirondack Public Observatory put on a lecture about how to get into astrophotography what type of equipment is needed. The lecture was extremely informative and the following nights I had to try it out.
A time lapse video of the night sky taken from behind my house. Facing roughly the Western sky. Video was taken with a digital SLR camera with a 30 second exposure and 30 seconds between each shot. Total time the camera was taking the set of pictures was approx. 3 hours and 45 minutes.
You may notice that it fades off towards the end. This wasn’t done on purpose as condensation started to build up and blurred the lens.

I love night skies. Thanks for sharing the pictures with me. You should be writing a column and doing pictures for the Times Union. Love, Aunt El
